CHM Montalivet, the largest naturist centre in Europe, is situated in the Médoc, in the Pointe du Verdon at the heart of a 200-hectare pine forest, bordering a 2-km beach on the Atlantic Ocean coast. Whether you visit as a couple or as a family with children (including infants and/or teenagers), various accommodation options are available to you, from camping pitches to rentals of tents, chalets and bungalows.
You will appreciate the large aquatic park with clear water, with its large slides, jacuzzi, paddling pool and waterfall onto the rocks. Looking to recharge your batteries? Fancy learning how to surf? Qualified instructors give lessons to people aged over 6 years at the “Hélio Surf Club” (lessons must be paid for). As for tourist attractions, there’s more to see and do in the region than you can fit into one trip! Make sure you visit a lighthouse. There are plenty at the shipping confluence of the Gironde estuary.
The most famous is the Cordouan lighthouse, known as the “Versailles of the sea”, “the lighthouse of kings” and “the king of lighthouses”, which is 68 m high and classified as a historical monument. Inside you will discover the apartment of the King, a chapel and the “salle des Girondins”.
