Situated in the Cèze gorges, in Gard (Languedoc-Roussillon), the Domaine de la Genèse extends over 26 hectares, on the banks of this river known for its valley, gorges and the number of open-air activities available here (swimming, canoeing, kayaking, etc.).
The centre has 370 campsite pitches with mobile homes, bungalows and chalets to rent. New for 2012: you can choose to stay in a real yurt, the traditional home of Mongolian nomads (27 m2 furnished circular tent), which will delight young and old alike … or choose an “eco-lodge” tent, which combines simplicity, quality and comfort (19 m2 and 6 m2 of covered terrace).
As well as a large range of activities for all ages, naturist excursions are organised from Monday to Saturday by a sports instructor, allowing you to discover the surrounding landscape and flora. For aquatic activities, the centre will lend you canoes for travelling along the winding Cèze.
To recharge your batteries, there’s nothing like our body modellings: a world of treatments at the heart of nature. Feel the full benefit of a popular Ayurvedic massage (consider booking this special experience in advance). The northern part of Gard is ideal for outdoor activities. From Mont Bouquet to Mont Lozère, passing through the picturesque village of Argensol, you can go hiking, cycling, mountain biking or horse-riding.
As a family, you can visit the Cévennes by a small steam train which links Anduze and its bamboo plantation, a unique plant site, to Saint-Jean du Gard. You can take trips to Nîmes – with its remarkable amphitheatre and ancient ruins – to the Pont du Gard in Orange – and its Roman theatre, which welcomes “Les Chorégies”, to Avignon- the Bénezet bridge and the Palace of the Popes – not forgetting trips to the Languedoc vineyards, including the famous Costières du Gard.
